Star Plus Managed Care
Most people in Texas who have Medicaid receive their services through a managed care organization. In this system the client/consumer select a health plan and receive Medicaid services through that health plan’s network of providers.
A-One Plus currently contract with the following Star Plus Managed Care Organizations;
- Molina Health
- Superior Health Plan
- Amerigroup/Well Point
- Cigna Health Springs
- Star Kids
- Star Plus- PCS services for foster care children
- Star Plus Waiver (CBA) and Non Waiver
What is a Managed Care Organization?
Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC) contracts with Managed Care Organizations licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance, and pay them a monthly amount to coordinate health services for Medicaid clients enrolled in their health plan.
The health plans contract directly with doctors and other health care providers to create provider networks for their members to use. The health plans are required to provide all covered medically necessary services to their members.
A-One Plus offers CDS in the programs listed below;
- Community Attendant Services (CAS) Program
- Community Living Assistance and Support Services Program (CLASS)
- Community First Choice (CFC)
- Family Care (FC) Program
- Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP)
- Personal Care Services (PCS)
- Star Plus – managed care organizations (Molina, Superior, Amerigroup, Health Springs)
- Star Plus – PCS services for foster care children
- Star Plus Waiver (CBA) and Non Waiver (PHC) services
- Consumer Directed Services
